FAQS

Do I need a permit for demolition?

Yes. A demolition permit is required however we manage the application and council approval process on your behalf.

What types of demolition do you offer?

We provide residential, commercial, partial and internal demolition services, including strip-outs, slab removal and site clearing.

What areas do you service?

We service Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, including the South East, Geelong, Bendigo and Ballarat.

Do you handle asbestos removal?

Yes. Licensed asbestos removal is arranged where required and a clearance certificate is provided upon completion.

Is demolition safe for neighbouring properties?

Absolutely. We follow strict safety procedures to minimize impact on adjoining properties and the surrounding environment. If there are garages, sheds, carports or buildings on neighbours boundaries our building surveyor might ask that we obtain a Protection Works Notice. This will involve having neighbours consent and is at no cost to the home owner.

Do I need to disconnect services before demolition?

Demolition works cannot begin until gas and electricity services have been fully abolished, not just disconnected. Please note that this process can take up to 20 business days from the time of booking depending on your provider.

To request electricity abolishment you will need your 11-digit NMI (National Meter Identifier). This unique number identifies your property and can be found on your electricity bill.

To abolish gas services you will need your Meter Installation Reference Number (MIRN). This unique identifier can be found on your gas bill and is also often printed on the gas meter itself.

The water supply must remain connected. It’s essential for the demolition process to help suppress dust and is a Occupational Health and Safety requirement.

What happens to the demolished materials?

Where possible, materials are sorted and recycled in accordance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
